The full tune of the Drozd and Drozd Blackbird consists of properly aligning the solenoid to the valve and adjusting the potentiometer on the circuit board. The solenoid is the "hammer" that opens the air valve in your gun. When properly set the solenoid will push the valve to its most open position at the same time the solenoid is in its most extended position thus allowing more air to flow into the gun and push the BB at a higher velocity. The "pot" or potentiometer is an adjustable resistor on the circuit board of the gun that controls the timing of the solenoid. When the potentiometer is adjusted you can effectively control how much air is allowed into the gun each time the solenoid is pulsed. By adjusting these two settings in tandem you can maximize the velocity for the exact setup you run your gun with. This includes tuning your gun to the voltage you use, your barrel length, if you use Co2 or HPA, if using HPA we will even tune your Drozd to operate to the maximum potential of your specific output pressure.
Also included in the full tune are modifications to the magazine such as centering the BB in the exit hole of the magazine before it enters the barrel. In theory this will increase accuracy and help extend the life of your barrel. Since we use a powerful rare earth magnet to do this modification it also successfully overcomes a factory flaw in which BBs can roll out of the barrel on their own. Besides from centering the BB before it leaves the magazine we also install a stainless steel latch plate that has a black oxide finish and this protects again mag droop and helps properly align the BB with the bore of the barrel.
