Using a higher output pressure will result in greater velocity but will give less full powered shots per fill. See below for estimated velocity increases when used with the Drozd airguns.
Going from 850 to 1000 psi will usually give about a 70-100 FPS (feet per second) gain in velocity. And every increase of 200 psi above 1000 psi usually results in a 20-40 foot per second gain until you reach 1600 psi output pressure.
Note: Using an output pressure above 1000 psi requires that the Drozd Blackbird be powered with 15 volts.

The Perfect Tank For Your Drozd Review by Gunner 1945
High air capacity is needed when running my Drozd Blackbird. These carbon fiber tanks are perfect since they are light and they hold a lot of air. I carry mine with a vest that has tank straps in the back so the tank does not get in the way. The vest is available form paint ball stores. Ray's HPA hose is the perfect length for carrying the tank this way.
This set up provides the air capacity needed when shooting at 1200 rounds per minute or at the other higher burst modes. I now have two Ninja 90's with 1,000 output and one with 1,600 output. These three 4,500 psi capacity tanks prevent me from making so many trips to the paint ball field for refills.
The Ninja 90 cu HPA will allow you to move around with a source of high capacity air instead of being tied down to a high capacity unportable tank and shooting from a fixed position.
