N batteries give your Drozd BB gun or Drozd Blackbird a performance boost of up to a 100 FPS gain. These 1.5 volt batteries are about 2/3 the size of a standard AA battery. When using these batteries in the Drozd and Drozd Blackbird you will need 10 of them instead of 6 AA batteries.
When using 10 1.5v "N" batteries in your EAA Drozd and Drozd Blackbird bb gun you increase the voltage to 15 volts. This allows your gun to shoot harder because the solenoid strikes the air valve on the magazine with more force. For those of you wanting to switch over from Co2 to HPA 15 volts is a must. N batteries will allow you to use HPA regulated out to a max of 1400 psi.
There are a couple downsides to using "N" batteries over standard AA's. First is their cost, “N” sized batteries cost more than twice the amount of some cheaper AA batteries. The second downside is they have only about half the capacity or storage of a regular AA battery. This means they will run out and go dead quicker. Lastly being that they are smaller than a standard AA battery they do not fit as tight in the battery compartment of your gun. Often times it is required to bend the battery tabs on the battery door so that they make good contact with the batteries. Another way is to put a small ball of tinfoil down inside the battery well in order to make good contact with the inside contacts.
Despite these drawbacks our testing has shown that compared to the Energizer/Xeno battery combination the GoldPeak “N” batteries produced almost 20 more feet per second on average.
